The 1970s residential district on Babenbergerring in Bamberg is poised for a thoughtful redesign. To rejuvenate this neglected area and restore its charm, an innovative plan has been crafted to elegantly streamline the intricate apartments and refresh their facades, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with the neighborhood's historical allure.
The location of the area offers potential, although it does not rank among the best locations. A design concept that incorporates the surrounding environment and location could be a significant asset for the neighborhood. The arrangement of the houses around a communal courtyard provides many opportunities to offer shared amenities to the residents of the district. The unused green spaces and the retail zone with substantial design deficits should be revitalized with a new usage concept.und mich zu bearbeiten.
The very large floor plans from the existing stock in section B were reduced, and the living spaces were redistributed to create more efficient living arrangements. To continue the loggia principle within the neighborhood, the old asbestos facades were replaced with new transparent head facades. In order to create a new character in the unused courtyard, the courtyard was landscaped with curved front gardens. New communal rooftop gardens were created on the roof surfaces.
